Mia Dyson's remarkable debut album Cold Water, released in 2003, was nominated for an ARIA Award. The then 22 year-old Mia subsequently embarked on a packed touring schedule of major festivals in both Australia and off shore, including the East Coast Blues and Roots, Falls, Womadelaide, NXNE in Canada and The Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.
Her 2005 self-produced album Parking Lots, cemented Mia's place as one of Australia's most exhilarating songwriters to both audiences and critics alike; 'Dyson has one of the most powerfully emotive female voices in the country. Mia was recently awarded the ARIA Award for 'Best Blues & Roots' artist and was nominated for 'Best Female Artist'.
2008 is shaping up to be another outstanding year for Mia Dyson; nationwide tours, songwriting, collaborations and compilations all on the horizon. Mia is currently in the process of writing her new album and is looking forward to composing yet another chapter in her already impressive recording career. In addition to this, Mia continues to travel the lengths of Australia in headlining festivals, performing sellout shows and passing on her valuable songwriting knowledge in workshops throughout the country.
